Northwestern Basketball Feast Week Open Thread

We can all look forward to the Rapid Reaction tonight, at the very least.

'Cats men head down to Cancun for some hooptyshoots in paradise, 'Cats women stay in Evanston for a pair of home games. If any of you folks are around, it's always better to watch bad basketball in a group.

Women's Basketball

Northwestern Wildcats vs. Niagara Purple Eagles

Tuesday, November 22 | 7pm | BTN+

Northwestern vs. Valparaiso Beacons

Sunday, November 27 | 2pm | BTN+

Sitting at 163 in RealTimeRPI, the 'Cats haven't blown anyone away this year -- a pair of blowout losses to Top 25 competition suggest it's a bit of a rebuilding campaign for Joe McKeown's bunch. But the Blizzard Bunch took care of the SIU Salukis over the weekend and are rolling the Purple Eagles so far tonight.

The Beacons are 2-1 but having, like the 'Cats, beaten no one. These are two games where you want to see Northwestern not only win for the obvious reasons, but roll to provide a little hope that this can be a middling B1G campaign at worst.

Men's Basketball

Northwestern vs. Liberty Flames

Tuesday, November 22 | 7:30pm | CBSSN
NU -3.5 | O/U 131 | Cancun Challenge

Make it bad basketball...but tropical.

Good enough? Sportswashing U (KP 96) is what it is in a number of ways -- an odious institution coached by someone from the Tony Bennett coaching tree. It's going to be slow, dumb, and ugly.

Northwestern vs. Auburn Tigers/Bradley Braves

5pm if loss to Liberty | 7:30pm if win | all on CBSSN

Auburn (KP 17) rolled Bradley (KP 131), 85-64, in Game 1. Obviously it'd be good for the 'Cats to play the former for a number of reasons, particularly if they have any postseason aspirations.

Anywho, if you want a place to talk about the games, here they are.
