The Wildcats won two of three games in a series against No. 23 Michigan at Sharon J. Drysdale Field this past weekend. It marks the first time since 2009 that Northwestern has defeated Michigan in Evanston.

Danielle Williams, who has won two Big Ten Pitcher of the Week titles in a row, was dominant again on Friday, striking out 16 Michigan batters over nine innings in a 4-3 victory. Maeve Nelson, Rachel Lewis, and Jordyn Rudd all hit home runs for the 'Cats, but Rudd's infield single in the ninth inning was the game-winner.

Rudd has been a standout performer for the Wildcats this season, contributing on both sides of the ball. This season, the Greenwood, Indiana native has thrown out 30.8 percent of base stealers, the highest rate in the Big Ten, while driving in 30 runs for the Cats.

This season, Williams leads the Big Ten with 184 strikeouts in 120 innings pitched and a 1.28 ERA. With 9.54 strikeouts per seven innings, she is Northwestern's all-time strikeout leader.

Northwestern and Notre Dame have met 25 times, with the Wildcats winning the last two meetings. Northwestern has a 14-10 record versus the Fighting Irish all time.
