Check the link. Pretty awesome preseason honor for a team coming off a 23-9 season -- now we'll wait and see if Joe McKeown's squad can build off a fantastic campaign.
Sam Cohen, a junior at Northwestern, created a change.org petition directed at athletic director Jim Phillips to try to get the athletic department to put an end to the tradition of playing "Put Your Hands Up In The Air" between the third and fourth quarters of football games. Cohen called the tradition "contrived," and argued that it "makes our fan presence seem weaker."
This is a topic our Ben Goren has addressed before with a somewhat humorous, but also somewhat serious column on why the "tradition" must go.
Now a student is trying to effect some change. We'll see how much traction this gains.

The Wildcats will wear white helmets with an American flag pattern inside the "N".
Awwwwwww, this is nice. Every year before school starts, as the scholarship numbers get figured out, schools give out any extra scholarships to a few deserving walk-ons. This year, linebacker Josh Roberts, wide receiver Austin Carr and kicker Jack Mitchell earned scholarships.
Carr has started at receiver the past two weeks due to injuries elsewhere at receiver, while Mitchell is the starting kicker. Roberts is a reserve linebacker.
Northwestern upsetting Stanford wasn't just a big deal in Evanston. It was a big deal everywhere. The matchup was the most-viewed cable game on Saturday, meaning the most-viewed game on a channel not ABC, NBC or CBS. The game aired on ESPN. Who says Northwestern isn't relevant on the national stage?
