So, yeah, Northwestern's going to lose by 20 plus to Wisconsin. This didn't even get a vomiting man, because it was so obvious and so expected.
The Wildcats went down 9-0 early, and for a while it seemed like NU might never score. They had 12 points in the first half. 12. Tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelve. Wisconsin had 28. NU had 12. It was the lowest output in a half of the Carmody era, which sums it up.
NU did better in the second half - I put most of it on James Montgomery III playing. It's not like Wisconsin even played crazily well - they shot in the 40's from the field and about 30 percent from three, but pretty average - but when you're going against a team that's No. 3 in the country in defense and you're a Northwestern team with about half of their players healthy, that's going to happen. Oh, and NU got outrebounded something like two-to-one.
NU played a sort of weird defense for most of the night - it was a cross between a 1-3-1 and a 2-1-2, not a common defense at all - and I guess you could argue it kind of worked, except for the rebounds.
