Nine Northwestern players named Phil Steele's All-B1G, 2015 schedule released

Some football news for a Monday morning, including Phil Steele's All-Big Ten teams -- featuring four Wildcats on the first squad.

US PRESSWIRE

Busy news day, and yo, I'm TOTALLY overstaying my welcome here in Evanston. It's great.

The first news of the morning is that Phil Steele's all-Big Ten teams are out -- Steelemas! -- and we got eight dudes on the squads. Here's how it looks:

First team: Venric Mark (RB, PR), Brandon Vitabile (C) Tyler Scott (DE), Jeff Budzien (K)

Second team: Ibraheim Campbell (S)

Third team: Chi Chi Ariguzo (LB), Nick VanHoose (CB)

Fourth team: Kain Colter (QB), Damien Proby (LB)

Not a bad haul, and hard to disagree with the selections. Venric Mark totally, completely deserves all-B1G honors in both categories, as do Tyler Scott and Jeff Budzien. Mark could get another all-American nod, and Budzien very well could be in line to win the Lou Groza Award, so they're not just the best in the B1G, they're near the best in the country. I knew Vitabile would be up there, but, first team! Ibraheim, Chi Chi, VanHoose, and Proby all earned their spots, which, dude, we have a good defense. And its a little weird to have Kain Colter an all-conference player when he doesn't take all of his teams snaps, but he's certainly dynamic enough to earn it.

We also have future football schedule, which goes here. NU will play either Penn State or Purdue at Wrigley Field, and that's the interesting thing.
